Meet the Artist Behind B.R.U.T. Matter

Hi, I'm Mariève!

Welcome to B.R.U.T. Matter. Based in Chelsea, Québec, my work grew out of a deep love for nature’s raw’s textures and the stories we hold dear.

With a background in interior design, I bring a trained eye for composition and balance to every piece. My work lives at the intersection of fine art and botanical preservation—whether I'm casting wedding bouquets, honoring memorial flowers, or sculpting vessels from recycled paper mâché.

What's in the Name?

B.R.U.T. stands for …

Beauty.

Realization.

Uniqueness.

Texture.

It honors the raw, organic feel of plaster, clay, and paper, giving enduring shape to the gentle stories held within each flower.

Art, Matter & Memory

For me, flowers aren't just decorative. They are emotional timestamps. They carry the laughter of a wedding day, the comfort of a final farewell, or the sweet simplicity of a bloom picked by a child.

By combining plaster casting with artisan techniques, I freeze these fleeting moments in time so you can cherish them forever.

"I’ve always seen myself as a keeper of memories. Whenever a moment truly matters, I feel the need to hold it close and keep it alive." — Mariève Emond
